Evaluation of Cracks on the Welding of Austenitic Stainless Steel Using Experimental and Numerical Techniques

چکیده
This paper deals with investigation and characterization of weld circumferential thin cracks in austenitic stainless steel (AISI 304) pipe eddy current nondestructive testing technique (EC-NDT). During welding process, the heat source applied to AISI 304 was not uniform, accompanied by a change physical property. To take into consideration this change, relative magnetic permeability considered as gradiently changed variable affected zone (HAZ), which generated Monte Carlo Method based on pseudo random number generation (PRNG). Numerical simulations were performed means MATLAB software using 2D finite element method solve problem. verify, results from modeling works conducted contrasted findings experimental ones. Indeed, comparison agreed well. In addition, they show that considering changing property allows distinguishing area.
